THE LAFERRARI REPLACEMENT : THE FERRARI F250
Spy photographers have caught a glimpse of the highly anticipated Ferrari F250 hypercar during testing near Maranello. Despite being heavily camouflaged, the prototype is slowly revealing more details about the successor to the LaFerrari.
The disguised F250 appears like a closed-cockpit prototype race car that has made a daring escape from the Le Mans pitlane. However, insiders suggest that it is still a work in progress and the visible styling in the spyshots may not reflect the final product. Noteworthy is the roofline, where the doors seamlessly cut in, allowing for easier access and lending the F250 a distinct race car aesthetic.
During its Capital Markets Day, Ferrari confirmed the development of a new 'supercar' that will launch by 2026 and account for less than 5% of their total production volume.
The Ferrari hypercar prototype sports a substantial aerodynamic package aimed at maximizing downforce at all road speeds. Its rear wing is particularly aggressive, and the bodywork features cooling ducts and hidden aero enhancements to efficiently slice through the air.
Rumors suggest that the Ferrari F250 will be a limited-series production car, with an estimated production volume of around 600 units. Additionally, there might be approximately 200 Aperta or Spider variants and a small number of track-only XX cars.
However, as is often the case with limited series Ferraris, most of the production slots are likely already spoken for, despite an expected price tag surpassing £2 million. Such is the allure of owning a Ferrari.
While it's too early to confirm the exact powertrain details of the F250, it is widely anticipated to be a hybrid vehicle, possibly featuring a downsized V6 engine paired with an electric motor. The focus will be on performance rather than low CO2 emissions or fuel economy.
Maranello acknowledges the immense interest surrounding the F250 project and assures investors that the highly awaited supercar will be launched within the planned timeframe of 2024-2026.
Car enthusiasts can expect to see the new Ferrari hypercar make its debut in autumn 2024, bringing with it a combination of raw power, stunning design, and unparalleled driving experience.
