Competition for the Urus?
Ever since the debut of the Lamborghini Urus, the SUV the industry by storm becoming the most sold vehicle by in Lamborghini's fleet. Since the release , the competition against the Urus has been weak and has yet to produce a car that can compete with the Urus. This is likely due to the fact that Lamborghini's competitors were caught off guard by its release and were not ready for it. It will be interesting to see how the competition responds in coming years as more automakers attempt to compete against Lamborghini's newest addition. Ferrari have been testing and producing a direct competitor for the Urus set to release next year in 2023.
The Purosangue is Ferrari’s first SUV. It was unveiled at the 2018 Geneva International Motor Show and will go on sale later in 2019.
The Purosangue is a mid-size, 4WD, high-performance luxury SUV with an all-new carbon fiber monocoque chassis that can seat four passengers and offers generous luggage space. If Ferrari choose to use the same engine in the rest of their fleet , the Purosangue will be powered by the 3.9L V8 engine producing over 700hp. The V8 engine can deliver power to all four wheels, making it capable of reaching 60 mph in 2.8 seconds, going on to reach a top speed of 220 mph. Production of this limited edition model is limited to 1,955 units worldwide (1,955 units per year for five years).
The Ferrari SUV is rumoured to be coming next year, and will be sold with a $300,000 price tag.
With the Urus on the market, it's only a matter of time before Ferrari joins the party. The Italian automaker has already confirmed plans for an SUV that it's calling a "hyper-SUV." It will be sold with a $300,000 price tag and will be sold at select dealerships starting next year. Limited production is also expected—around 9,000 units total over five years—so you may want to act fast if you're interested in this vehicle when it comes out.
